We embark today on our first more-than-one-stop trip. It’s not really a tour, or a mini-tour for that matter, since booking Milwaukee or Madison proved nearly impossible, despite meeting some of the nicest, most helpful bands and venues I’ve ever spoken with. It’s more of a long, fun weekend, where we get to play a couple times.
We leave today at noon, with most of the gear. We can’t fit it all in my Isuzu Rodeo, so we’re just taking one guitar cab and one bass cab. We’re gonna try our hardest to fit the other bass cab in, but I’m not sure it’s gonna happen.
We’ll be playing in Chicago tonight with Students From Norway at Quencher’s, so if you’re in the Chicago area, please come out and hang with us. Especially all you Grand Rapids transplants.
Then on Saturday, we’re playing another city on the water, Minneapolis, which our good friend Holly set us up with. We’re playing with Buildings and Zoo Animal, two very stellar bands, at the 501 Club. I’m told we get free pizza. I hope this is true.
Sunday we’ll be taking the long 10 1/2 hour trip home, hopefully with a little bit of money left, and sense of accomplishment. And HOPEFULLY in time for Mad Men. It’s an obsession.
Once we’re back, we’ll post some photos and all that. Wish us luck!
